Lucy traveled with this brown cosmetics case throughout the 1970s and 80s. It is embossed with her initials, LBM (Lucille Ball Morton) in silver. Inside is a large collection of her Max Factor makeup (used and unused), accessories including rollers, pins, a mirror, sponges and brushes. There’s even a partially used tube of lipstick. Wiglets in Lucy’s signature henna color are also present as well as a few brunette pieces that she wore in the mid 70’s around the time she made her film, MAME. When this piece was acquired a gold sticker from the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City was found in a pocket, which means it is highly likely that this case at the very least traveled from coast to coast.
